The Young Dubliners in Delaware
CELTIC ROCKERS, THE YOUNG DUBLINERS, COMING TO WORLD CAFE LIVE WILMINGTON Friday, August 19th, 8pm As their name suggests, The Young Dubliners are a band comprised of several Dublin natives who blend traditional Irish music with rock n' roll to create a jam-friendly sound. They’ll be bringing that unique sound to World Cafe Live in Wilmington for one amazing live show on Friday, August 19th! All Music.com states, "Their live shows (have) a jam-like appeal, similar to the vibes of Phish and the Dave Matthews Band." For over fifteen years the group has toured, recorded and performed to growing audiences. On this tour, you’ll hear songs from their latest album, "Saints and Sinners", one of their finest records to date. "We really set a very high standard for ourselves as songwriters," says founding member Keith Roberts. "We live on the road, but were aware that if every few years we don't give our fans the highest quality songs we can, that level of excitement and anticipation may not last forever. We consider ourselves songwriters first and never just jammed styles together to sell albums. Our goal has always been to keep getting better and make the songs mean something." Their style of music has come to be called Celtic Rock, for the fusion of Irish traditional instruments and music with modern rock. They have released eight albums - Rocky Road, Breathe, Alive Alive'O, Red, Absolutely, Real World, With All Due Respect - The Irish Sessions and Saints and Sinners. They have toured the United States and Europe since 1994, and have supported Jethro Tull, John Hiatt, Chris Isaak, Jonny Lang, Great Big Sea, and Collective Soul. Catch the Irish rockers at World Cafe Live in Wilmington for only $20! The show starts at 8pm in the downstairs theater. Local Chester County band, The Paul Waltz Band will be opening.
