The Official Sponsor of the Wilmington DE St. Patrick's Day and The Delaware Feis.
The I.C.C.D. was founded in 1976, as a "Family organization" by "a group of local 'Lace-Curtain' and 'Shanty' Lovers of 'Ole Erin,' " according to one of our founders, Jim O'Hanlon, with the purpose of "learning and spreading Irish culture and traditions among ourselves and others."
We are primarily a social organization, and are not affiliated with any political or religious organization. You don't even have to be Irish or live in Delaware to become a member of the Club and enjoy our activities!
Unless otherwise noted in the Monthly News section, our meetings are held at Catherine Rooney's Pub in Trolley Square, Wilmington. Among our many activities, we hold:
Monthly General Business Meetings--on the 3rd Tuesday-anyone interested may attend;
The Annual Wine & Cheese Gathering in February;
A Christmas Party for children in Dec.;
The Annual Christmas Dinner for members and their guests in Dec.;
The Annual Delaware Feis Irish Dance Competition each August;
The Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in downtown Wilmington-- with related activities.
